Empowerment Through Skill Development and Livelihood
Gyan Shree Foundation Trust provides skill development and vocational training in the areas of IT, healthcare and banking and finance. The Trust is a training partner of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM) and Tata Institute of Social Sciences – School of Vocational Education (TISS-SVE).
Under Domain Skilling programme of the BSDM, Gyan Shree Foundation Trust run Skill Development Centre for General Duty Assistant course in Healthcare sector and Life Insurance Agent course in BFSI sector.
As a Training Hub Partner of TISS-SVE, Gyan Shree Foundation Trust offers 3-year degree as well as short-term course in Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector. Short-term training and livelihood programmes were conducted for women and marginalised community.
Tata Institute of Social Sciences – School of Vocational Education (TISS-SVE)
Gyan Shree Foundation Trust vocational training in collaboration with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences – School of Vocational Education (TISS-SVE). As a Training Hub Partner of TISS-SVE, Gyan Shree Foundation Trust offers 3-year degree as well as short-term course in Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector. Short-term training and livelihood programmes are conducted for students belonging to poor and marginalised community.
Gyan Shree Foundation Trust in partnership with TISS-SVE offers three-year Bachelor of Vocational Education (B.Voc.) degree and short-term certificate courses.
In collaboration with TISS-SVE we also conduct short-term certificate programmes. The objective of the course is to upgrade the specialised skills that each sector demands to enhance earning capabilities of the trainee.
The B.Voc. programme provides students a new option at the under-graduate level – an industry-focused, employment-oriented curriculum. It enables students pursue their graduate programme studies while pursuing regular employment or paid internships. We also assist students find suitable employment after successful completion of the course. This course allows the students who have completed 12th standard or equivalent to join directly at NSQF Level 5 based on their academic achievements. The target group for such courses is largely marginalised youth who are seeking non-formal educational methods to enhance earning capabilities and thereby improve livelihood conditions.
Kushal Yuva Programme
Gyan Shree Foundation Trust also runs Skill Development Centres that focus on providing life skills, basic knowledge of computer and communication skills to youth of marginalised section free of cost. The programme called Kushal Yuva Programme is run under the aegis of Bihar Skill Development Mission.
Under this programme youth in the age group of 15 to 33 years were given training to enhance their employability. The training includes three components: Life skills, Communications Skills (English & Hindi) and Basic computer literacy. Duration: Life Skills for 40 hours, Communication Skills for 80 hours and Basic computer literacy component 120 hours. It is funded and supported by the BSDM.
In December 2016, Gyan Shree Foundation Trust became training partner of Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM). We opened Skill Development Centre for Kushal Yuva Programme (KYP) course sponsored by Bihar Skill Development Mission. KYP is a unique skill training programme aimed to enhance the employability Skills of all aspirants in the age group of 15-28 years (Age limit for SC/ST, OBC & People with Disabilities is as follows: SC/ST – 33 years, OBC – 31 years, PwD – 33 years), who have passed at least 10th Class irrespective of their having attained higher education or their currently pursuing higher education.
The course curriculum include three components: Life skills, Communications Skills (English & Hindi) and Basic computer literacy. Duration: Life Skills for 40 hours, Communication Skills for 80 hours and Basic computer literacy component 120 hours. It is aimed to enhance the candidates’ employability and act as a value add to the various domain specific training endeavours currently being implemented in Bihar.
